29th Annual Old School Board Swap!
May 7, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Spring’s almost here…it’s just about time for our Old School Board Swap. This spring will be our 29th! This year, we want to continue to bring things back to how it used to be…really old school, loaded with classics. We will add some other ideas to the Vintage cars and Vintage Surfboard display!
We call it a boardswap, because that’s what they called them back in the 60s…you can Buy, Sell or Swap. This tradition draws more and more people each year…we’ll get surfers from 10 different states showing up, with well 100 to 150 boards out in front, around the side and in back of the shop…it’s a really cool event that I look forward to every Spring and Fall.Spring’s almost here…it’s just about time for our Old School Board Swap. The focus is on “Vintage” riders from the 60s, 70s and 80s…lately we’ve extended things to include modern day longboards, alternative boards, fish, eggs and modern single fins as well. We’ll get some classic skateboards and some surfing memorabilia from time to time. It attracts all types from collectors, surfers, long-time members of the surfing community and people that just love the SURF CULTURE. We’ll have some food and drink!
It’s different than other “Board Swaps” because we just supply the place and the atmosphere for the event to happen. We don’t take any money or force you to take store credit for what you’ve sold. The only rule we have, is that all boards have to be USED…no NEW surfboards are allowed. That’s what we do inside the shop. It’s another event that we, at the Beach House put together to continue to build a Surfing Community in our neck of the woods…that’s what it’s all about; surf culture.
