Public Benefits for Older Adults

JACKSON – Life happens, and sometimes, unexpected life events can lead to long-term financial challenges. AARP will present
“Public Benefits for Older Adults” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, November 16 at the Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library.
The rising cost of living can make balancing your budget challenging. If you’re faced with circumstances beyond your control and need a little help, you may be eligible for public benefits that can relieve the burden.
An AARP volunteer will cover the various public benefits in New Jersey, who is eligible, and how to apply.
They will also provide information about money for groceries, benefits to lower your medical and household expenses, assistance with lowering your student loan payments, and more.
This includes programs like Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8), LIHEAP, Medicaid, and SNAP (food stamps).
Even if you’re unsure if you meet the income levels required, you are sure to find something of value in this informative program.
Registration is required for this free program. To register, visit tinyurl.com/JacksonAARP, call 732-928-4400, or stop by the branch at 2 Jackson Drive.
