DESCRIPTION:Patriot Songs of the American Revolution\nBy Bobby Horton\nOur musical heritage plays an essential role in preserving the history\, culture\, and spirit of our nation’s early days. \nThrough music\, we hear not only of events but also the hopes\, dreams\, and disappointments of those who lived through them.\nThe music presented in this program was part of that journey. \nThese are the songs that fueled the colonists’ desire for freedom and unity. \nThey include stirring anthems meant to rally support for the independence movement\, celebratory tunes marking victories that lifted spirits\, \nhumorous songs poking fun at the enemy\, and lighter “pop” tunes beloved by the common people.
