DESCRIPTION:LBIF is excited for vocalist and trombonist Hailey Brinnel’s return to our stage with her imaginative jazz arrangements of Broadway standards. \nBrinnel was a finalist in the 2021 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and named one of GRAMMY.com’s “10 Emerging Jazz Artists to Watch”. \n\nAs a child\, jazz vocalist and trombonist Hailey Brinnel’s favorite pastime was sitting in the passenger seat of her dad’s car singing along to the soundtracks of beloved musicals\, \nsuch as The Music Man and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. \nAs a nod to those cherished musical car-rides\, her third full-length album will be made up of innovative arrangements of Broadway standards\, including the works of Stephen Sondheim\, \nAndrew Lloyd Webber\, Cole Porter\, John Kander\, and more. \nThe band joining Hailey on vocals and trombone will be Andrew Carson – Trumpet\, \nSilas Irvine – Piano\, Joe Plowman – Bass\, Steve Fidyk – Drums (former drummer for the Army Jazz Band for over 20 years). \n\nhttps://www.lbifoundation.org/mastercalendar/broadway-re-imagined-with-hailey-brinnel

DESCRIPTION:This workshop will combine the digital emulsion transfer process with collage techniques to provide a greater variety of printable surfaces. \nDay 1 will review the basic technique of emulsion transfer\, turning digital photographs into images with a lithographic quality using everyday items\, like Purell hand sanitizer and silkscreen paper.
