Sea glass and fossil lectures. \nGuess the Sea Glass \nAll day Saturday & Sunday • Winner announced Sunday at 4PM\nGuess the number of pieces of genuine sea glass in the big jar. Best guess closest to the actual number wins and takes home the entire jar. \nSaturday October 3 \nBest of the Best Sea Glass Contest \nRegistration: 11AM – 3PM • Judging at 3:30PM\nContestants may enter a total of two pieces of sea glass or pottery. Entries must be found — not purchased. \nWinners chosen for Best Found on LBI\, Best Found Around the World\, People’s Choice\, and Best Overall of the Day. \nFossil & Artifact Contest \nRegistration: 11AM – 1PM • Judging at 1:30PM\nContestants may enter one fossil\, archeological artifact\, or oddity\, such as a bone\, shark tooth\, arrowhead\, etc. \nEntry must be found — not purchased. Winners chosen for First\, Second\, Third\, and Best Overall Find. \nLecture • Fossils of the NJ Coast \n1PM – 1:15PM • Expert\, enthusiast and fossil hunter Derek Yoost will discuss fossils and prehistoric artifacts of the New Jersey coast.\nThere will be a brief Q & A after the lecture. \nSunday October 4 \nBest of the Best Sea Glass Contest \nRegistration: 11AM – 3PM • Judging at 3:30PM\nContestants may enter a total of two pieces of sea glass or pottery. Entries must be found — not purchased. \nWinners chosen for Best Found on LBI\, Best Found Around the World\, People’s Choice\, and Best Overall of the Day. \nWrack Line Sculpture Contest \nRegistration: 11AM – 2PM • Judging at 2:30PM\nContestants may enter one original sculpture created from any beach-found flotsam and jetsam. \nEntries must be G-rated\, fit on the contest table\, and stay intact for the duration of the event.
