SUMMARY:D.Y.O.T. with Instruction with Carol Colvin
DESCRIPTION:April 1\, 8\, 15\, 22\, 29\, May 6\, 13\, 20 \n3:30 PM – 5:30 PM. \nMembers:  $160 \nNon-members:  $200 \nHello members\, \nMy new class is starting\, and I will continue to set up a still-life\, and instruct students with their own projects\, but . . .Ever get frustrated with a watercolor you just can’t get right? \nBeen there\, done that.  Some time ago I did a portrait of a niece in watercolor. \nLoved the tilt of her head and the flowers in her hair (she was a bridesmaid I think); but at that time I could not achieve the softness of her face in paint. \nSo\, I went over the entire work with pastels\, which are soft and blend beautifully. \nJoin me in class\, beginning April 1\, 3:30 – 5:30\, for 8 weeks.  $160 members\, $200 for non-members. \nI will supply the pastels.  Doesn’t have to be a portrait that you want to enhance\, could be landscape\, still-life or abstract. \nSo much fun to get messy with your materials. \nhttps://www.ocartistsguild.org/event/d-y-o-t-with-instruction-carol-colvin/ \ninfo@ocartistsguild.org \n732-270-3111 \n

Old fashion donuts\, apple cider and of course Halloween candy. \nFor over 30 years\, MR. SPEED has ventured from club shows to stadiums\, from theaters to community fairs and festivals\, even sharing the stage with legendary KISS guitarist Ace Frehley in 2007. \nIn 2012 MR. SPEED stood toe to toe against over 200 KISS tribute bands from all over the world. In the end they were crowned “The Best KISS Tribute Band in the World” at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. This distinction was awarded to them by none other than Tommy Thayer of KISS. \nIn April of 2014 MR. SPEED brought Season 3 of “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” on AXS TV to a rocking finale. \nTheir performance was broadcast into over 40 million homes placing MR. SPEED into the public conscience on an international level unlike ever before. \nMost recently in July 2020\, MR. SPEED competed against and bested 8 KISS Tribute bands from around the world. The TRIBUTE WARS QUARANTINED group hosted the competition in which MR.SPEED garnered more likes\, shares\, and comments than their competitors. \nThey also won the praise of such rock giants as Eddie Ojeda of Twisted Sister and Charlie Benante of Anthrax in the process. \nThe ultimate prize was the distinction of being able to once again call themselves “The Best KISS Tribute Band in the World.” \nRelentless in their pursuits to push their limits\, MR. SPEED is moving into their future with their most over-the-top production to date. MR. SPEED is exactly what the doctor ordered! \nstrand.org

SUMMARY:Drawing with Joseph Rogine
DESCRIPTION:1:00 PM – 3:00 PM \nThis class is being offered to ages 12 and up! \n$20.00 for members per class \n$25.00 for non members per class \nInstructor: Joseph Rogine \nThese classes are designed for both beginning to advanced students who want to sharpen their skills in drawing. \nI have taught students for over 25 years who have never picked up a pencil to draw to those who have been quite advanced. \nIt is an academic course\, (academic being defined as that which can be taught). \nDrawings are created by copying master drawings\, simple to complex still-life objects and classical plaster casts. \nThe student usually begins by copying a master drawing that is supplied to them. \nAll students start out using graphite pencils with grades of 2H HB 2B. \nThe capabilities and limitations of drawing materials and drawing instruments are discussed at length along with their proper handling. \nClasses are essentially about learning how to see nature and the world as an artist sees it\, through the language and medium of drawing. \nThe student’s eye will gradually become trained and sensitive on how to compose a layout on the page\, assessing proportion\, elementary perspective\, gauge angles\, identify shapes\, access the degree of curvature of forms\, locate hidden movements and linear rhythms\, the structure and modeling of form and the study of light and shade. \nThis opens a whole new world towards a visual literacy that was very common in school curricula 100 to 150 years ago. \nDepending on a students’ progress and particular interest repeat students are free to experiment with various drawing mediums like charcoal\, pastel pencil\, pen and ink etc.\, along with the drawing surfaces applicable to their chosen medium. Joseph Rogine supply list 2024. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Joseph Rogine at 732-349-6859\, or by email at info@ocartistsguild.org.
