SUMMARY:Sunset Meditation
DESCRIPTION:How do STEM workers\, including NASA professionals\, cope with stress? \nExercise is one way. Physical activity and fitness have been discussed in many NASA outreach efforts. \nHowever\, outreach efforts regarding other branches of health\, emotional\, psychological\, and social well-being are lacking. \nGiven that jobs come with stress\, a global understanding of the science of stress and learning a healthy way to cope with it helps with the well-being of employees\, job productivity\, employee retention\, etc. Meditation is a powerful tool for maintaining psychological health and resilience. \nSince the planetarium offers a dark and quiet space for relaxation\, it is the perfect place for meditation. \nEnjoy a guided meditation experience from Ball State University with the program “Sunset Meditation.” \nView a fantastic sunset as you travel from the Grand Canyon to the North Pole. \nThen\, relax under a night sky filled with stars and glimpses of the Northern Lights. \nFulldome Film\nApprox 25 Minutes \nbooking.ocean.edu

SUMMARY:Dancing at Lughnasa
DESCRIPTION:This extraordinary play is the story of five unmarried sisters eking out their lives in a small village in Ireland in 1936. We meet them at the time of the festival of Lughnasa\, which celebrates the pagan god of the harvest with drunken revelry and dancing. Their spare existence is interrupted by brief\, colorful bursts of music from the radio\, their only link to the romance and hope of the world at large. The action of the play is told through the memory of the illegitimate son of one of the sisters as he remembers the five women who raised him: his mother and four maiden aunts. He is only seven in 1936\, the year his elderly uncle\, a priest\, returns after serving for twenty-five years as a missionary in a Ugandan leper colony. For the young boy\, two other disturbances occur that summer. The sisters acquire their first radio\, whose music transforms them from correct Catholic women to shrieking\, stomping banshees in their own kitchen. And he meets his father for the first time\, a charming Welsh drifter who strolls up the lane and sweeps his mother away in an elegant dance across the fields. From these small events spring the cracks that destroy the foundation of the family forever. Widely regarded as Brian Friel’s masterpiece\, this haunting play is Friel’s tribute to the spirit and valor of the past. \n\nhttps://www.grunincenter.org/event/dancing-at-lughnasa/2026-03-22/ \ngrunincenter@ocean.edu \n732-255-0500 \nFriday\, March 13 • 7:30pm (This performance will be interpreted in ASL by students from the Interpreter Training Program.)\, Saturday\, March 14 • 2:00pm\, Saturday\, March 14 • 7:30pm\, Sunday\, March 15 • 2:00pm\,  Friday\, March 20 • 7:30pm\, Saturday\, March 21 • 2:00pm\, Saturday\, March 21 • 7:30pm\, Sunday\, March 22 • 2:00pm
