SUMMARY:Rockin' Jake Band
DESCRIPTION:Rockin’ Jake has been hailed by many as one of the premier harmonica players in the country. \nHis original sound is a hybrid of second line\, swamp funk\, blues and zydeco with influences from Paul Butterfield\, Big Walter Horton\, James Cotton\, The Meters\,WAR\, J. Geils Band\, Clifton Chenier\, and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Jake has conjured up this formula that is blowing crowds away from coast to coast. Widely known as a touring juggernaut among his peers\, his schedule of over 200 performances per year include clubs\, concert venues\, and festivals. \nBased out of New Orleans since 1990\, Rockin’ Jake relocated since being flooded out by Hurricane Katrina\, then settled in St. Louis and now lives in Southern Florida. Originally from the East Coast\, the “blues bug” bit at an early age for Jake. He immersed himself in the thriving regional blues scene\, which boasted such talents as Roomful of Blues\, Ronnie Earl\, Duke Robillard and Sugar Ray. Primarily self-taught\, Jake briefly studied with Jerry Portnoy\, harmonica player for Muddy Waters. \n\nhttps://www.lizzierosemusic.com/product-page/rockin-jake-band-wed-sep-17th \nlizzierosemusic@aol.com \n6092766758 \n  \nLocation:

SUMMARY:Drawing with Joseph Rogine
DESCRIPTION:This is a 4-week class on Thursdays\, November 6\, 13\, 20 December 4   7-9 pm \nThis class is being offered to ages 12 and up! \n$100 non- members $80.00 members \nInstructor: Joseph Rogine \nThese classes are designed for both beginning to advanced students who want to sharpen their skills in drawing. \nI have taught students for over 25 years who have never picked up a pencil to draw to those who have been quite advanced. \nIt is an academic course\, (academic being defined as that which can be taught). \nDrawings are created by copying master drawings\, simple to complex still-life objects and classical plaster casts. \nThe student usually begins by copying a master drawing that is supplied to them. \nAll students start out using graphite pencils with grades of 2H HB 2B. \nThe capabilities and limitations of drawing materials and drawing instruments are discussed at length along with their proper handling. Classes are essentially about learning how to see nature and the world as an artist sees it\, through the language and medium of drawing. \nThe student’s eye will gradually become trained and sensitive on how to compose a layout on the page\, assessing proportion\, elementary perspective\, gauge angles\, identify shapes\, access the degree of curvature of forms\, locate hidden movements and linear rhythms\, the structure and modeling of form and the study of light and shade. \nThis opens a whole new world towards a visual literacy that was very common in school curricula 100 to 150 years ago. \nDepending on a students’ progress and particular interest repeat students are free to experiment with various drawing mediums like charcoal\, pastel pencil\, pen and ink etc.\, along with the drawing surfaces applicable to their chosen medium. Joseph Rogine supply list 2024. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Joseph Rogine at 732-349-6859\, or by email at info@ocartistsguild.org. (ages 12+\, teen\, adult\, drawing) \nHere are some examples of what students have created under Joseph’s instruction. \nhttps://www.ocartistsguild.org/event/drawing-with-joe-rogine-9/2025-12-04/ \ninfo@ocartistsguild.org \n732-270-3111 \n

SUMMARY:Willy Porter
DESCRIPTION:Willy Porter continues on a musical and personal odyssey spanning over two decades\, 13 albums\, and multiple continents. His journey has been defined by an inquisitive love for humanity and the language that describes what we all hold to be true. Porter’s songs weave a universal perspective about the questions\, struggles\, and triumphs of human existence. His live shows are guitar-driven grit\, soul\, silence and muscle– at times electrifying\, dynamic\, and unique in the way that Porter’s voice blends and fuses with his fret work. \n\nA largely self-taught musician\, Porter began treating audiences to his brand of guitar playing and wry storytelling in the late ‘80’s while living in Madison\, Wisconsin. In 1990\, he released his first full-length independent album\, The Trees Have Soul\, and the touring life has flowed steadily ever since. Porter has literally logged millions of miles across America\, Canada\, the UK\, and Europe\, touring solo\, as well as with various incarnations of the Willy Porter Band and in support of artists like Tori Amos\, Paul Simon\, Jethro Tull\, Sting\, and Jeff Beck. \n\nhttps://www.lizzierosemusic.com/product-page/willy-porter-thur-sept-18th \nlizzierosemusic@aol.com \n6092766758 \n
