DESCRIPTION:2026 Group Stand Up Paddleboarding Classes Toms River Recreation \nDates: Sunday June 21 \nTime:  9:00am – 10:30am \nLocation: Shelter Cove Beach 1390 Bay  Ave. \nAges: 16+ years old \nDescription:  Join Coastline Adventures and Toms River Recreation for this one day clinic for beginner and intermediate level stand-up paddleboarders. \nProgressive skill and team building sessions cover equipment familiarization and proper fit\, location and condition assessment\, on and off water safety and self-rescue skills\, fundamental paddling techniques and navigation\, and local wildlife and environmental awareness. \nEach day offers a new adventure\, paddling\, swimming\, and fun activities. \nRequirements:  Participants MUST know how to swim. \nEquipment:  Board\, leash\, and life vest are provided for use during class.  Participants may bring their own equipment\, rash guards or wetsuits. \nBeach badges are NOT required to attend class but are required if participants or guardians plan on staying after class ends. \nParticipants should bring their own sunscreen\, towel\, drinks\, snacks and footwear. \nIn the event Toms River Township and /or Coastline Adventures needs to cancel your entire class\, rain date options will be offered based on availablity and safe paddeling conditions. \n Coastline Adventures Surfing School is accredited by the National Surf/SUP Schools and Instructors Association and brings over 30 years of professional experience providing safe\, high-quality surf\, bodyboard\, and stand-up paddleboard instruction throughout the Jersey Shore. DESCRIPTION:1:00 PM – 3:00 PM \nThis class is being offered to ages 12 and up! \n$20.00 for members per class $25.00 for non members per class \nInstructor: Joseph Rogine \nThese classes are designed for both beginning to advanced students who want to sharpen their skills in drawing. \nI have taught students for over 25 years who have never picked up a pencil to draw to those who have been quite advanced. \nIt is an academic course\, (academic being defined as that which can be taught). \nDrawings are created by copying master drawings\, simple to complex still-life objects and classical plaster casts. The student usually begins by copying a master drawing that is supplied to them. \nAll students start out using graphite pencils with grades of 2H HB 2B. \nThe capabilities and limitations of drawing materials and drawing instruments are discussed at length along with their proper handling. Classes are essentially about learning how to see nature and the world as an artist sees it\, through the language and medium of drawing. \nThe student’s eye will gradually become trained and sensitive on how to compose a layout on the page\, assessing proportion\, elementary perspective\, gauge angles\, identify shapes\, access the degree of curvature of forms\, locate hidden movements and linear rhythms\, the structure and modeling of form and the study of light and shade. \nThis opens a whole new world towards a visual literacy that was very common in school curricula 100 to 150 years ago. \nDepending on a students’ progress and particular interest repeat students are free to experiment with various drawing mediums like charcoal\, pastel pencil\, pen and ink etc.\, along with the drawing surfaces applicable to their chosen medium.
