DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fall Sunday afternoon of live music at our annual Harvest Hootenanny! \nThe Hootenanny takes place on Sunday\, October 11. Doors open at 1:00pm and music begins at 2:00pm. \nAdmission is $10 for adults and $1 for children under 12. \nSettle in for an afternoon of Bluegrass\, Country\, Folk music and beyond.  We have six great bands: \n The J. DESCRIPTION:“She has a miraculous voice\, musical ability and technique\, as well as an innate gift for entertaining a crowd.” — Wall Street Journal \nVeronica Swift has established herself as one of her generation’s iconic voices in Jazz. \nThroughout her childhood\, she toured nationally with her parents (Jazz musicians Hod O’Brien and Stephanie Nakasian)\, singing at renowned clubs and festivals such as Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola\, Jazz Standard (NYC)\, Jazz Showcase (Chicago)\, and Telluride Jazz Festival. \nShe recorded her first album at age nine\, and since then has had a career spanning two decades\, which saw a 2nd place win at The 2015 Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition\, a twice-a-year residency at Birdland Jazz Club\, joining Chris Botti’s touring band\, as well as touring with Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and recording with Jeff Goldblum. \nHer 2021 album This Bitter Earth received a 5-star review and the cover of DownBeat magazine\, and in 2024\, she was honored with a French knighthood as Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters. \nWhile her first two releases on Mack Avenue cemented her as a master of scat improvisation and programming conceptual song cycles\, her most recent self-titled album (2023) showed us that Swift’s talents and path lie in other directions than just Jazz\, rather theatrical glam rock as seen with her original band DAME\, which she co-founded with The Dresden Dolls’ Brian Viglione. \nSince moving to Los Angeles in 2022\, she has pursued other projects and collaborations in the rock genre with artists like pianist Mike Garson of David Bowie\, Luke Spiller of The Struts\, guitarist John Notto of Dirty Honey\, and The Lemon Twigs. SPEED stood toe to toe against over 200 KISS tribute bands from all over the world. In the end they were crowned “The Best KISS Tribute Band in the World” at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. This distinction was awarded to them by none other than Tommy Thayer of KISS. \nIn April of 2014 MR. SPEED brought Season 3 of “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” on AXS TV to a rocking finale. \nTheir performance was broadcast into over 40 million homes placing MR. SPEED into the public conscience on an international level unlike ever before. \nMost recently in July 2020\, MR. SPEED competed against and bested 8 KISS Tribute bands from around the world. The TRIBUTE WARS QUARANTINED group hosted the competition in which MR.SPEED garnered more likes\, shares\, and comments than their competitors. \nThey also won the praise of such rock giants as Eddie Ojeda of Twisted Sister and Charlie Benante of Anthrax in the process. \nThe ultimate prize was the distinction of being able to once again call themselves “The Best KISS Tribute Band in the World.” \nRelentless in their pursuits to push their limits\, MR.
