DESCRIPTION:Get ready for one of the most beloved traditions of the summer — the Denise Whalen Carey Crab Race at Breakwater Beach Waterpark!\nJoin us for a day full of fun and friendly competition as hundreds of plastic crabs race their way down Patriot’s Plunge into the Revolutionary River in support of a meaningful cause.\nThis special event honors Denise Whalen Carey and brings our community together for an unforgettable experience at the park.\nAdopt your crab\, cheer it on\, and you could be the lucky winner of exciting prizes!\nWhether you’re racing or just soaking up the energy\, it’s a can’t-miss highlight of the season for families and friends of all ages.\nMake a splash\, support a great cause\, and be part of the excitement at the Denise Whalen Carey Crab Race — only at Breakwater Beach Waterpark!\nDenise Whalen Carey was a former manager at Breakwater Beach who lost her battle of cancer.\nShe put her heart into the events and birthday parties at the park. She is terribly missed and we are now honoring her in our annual Crab Race.\nYou can purchase your “crab” for only $5 starting August 1st.\nYou can purchase your crabs at the admission windows at the Waterpark Entrance.\nCrabs may be purchased online for $5.50 per crab.\nThe winning crab gets $100 and a 10 all-day passes to Breakwater Beach for the 2027 season.\nA lot of other prizes will be awarded to the first 100 crabs who win the race.\nProceeds from the event go directly to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in hopes of finding a cure for Cancer.\nYou do not need to be present at the event to win a prize; you can still make the donation for the crab entry.\nPlease note: your donation does not include admission to the park\nAugust 22 at 5pm
