DESCRIPTION:This is a 4-week class on Thursdays\, November 6\, 13\, 20 December 4   7-9 pm \nThis class is being offered to ages 12 and up! \n$100 non- members $80.00 members \nInstructor: Joseph Rogine \nThese classes are designed for both beginning to advanced students who want to sharpen their skills in drawing. \nI have taught students for over 25 years who have never picked up a pencil to draw to those who have been quite advanced. \nIt is an academic course\, (academic being defined as that which can be taught). \nDrawings are created by copying master drawings\, simple to complex still-life objects and classical plaster casts. \nThe student usually begins by copying a master drawing that is supplied to them. \nAll students start out using graphite pencils with grades of 2H HB 2B. \nThe capabilities and limitations of drawing materials and drawing instruments are discussed at length along with their proper handling. Classes are essentially about learning how to see nature and the world as an artist sees it\, through the language and medium of drawing. \nThe student’s eye will gradually become trained and sensitive on how to compose a layout on the page\, assessing proportion\, elementary perspective\, gauge angles\, identify shapes\, access the degree of curvature of forms\, locate hidden movements and linear rhythms\, the structure and modeling of form and the study of light and shade. \nThis opens a whole new world towards a visual literacy that was very common in school curricula 100 to 150 years ago. \nDepending on a students’ progress and particular interest repeat students are free to experiment with various drawing mediums like charcoal\, pastel pencil\, pen and ink etc.\, along with the drawing surfaces applicable to their chosen medium. DESCRIPTION:Weekly Children’s Art with Miss Jess \nOctober 2nd\, 9th\, 16th\, and 23rd \nClass Overview: $125 \nThursdays 4:15pm-5:15pm  Ages 7-14 \nThis is a 60-minute\, instructor-led 4 week art session designed to ignite creativity and exploration across a variety of mediums each month. \nProjects may include drawing\, painting\, collage\, sculpture\,  printmaking and craft materials\, often combining two or more techniques into a single project. \nEach month’s session introduces new mediums and techniques ensuring fresh experiences for every student. Students learn foundational art concepts like color theory\, composition\, form\, perspective\, balance\, movement and texture\, while gaining confidence\, independence and expressive skills. \nSome programs incorporate lessons on classic and contemporary artists\, global art styles\, or cultural concepts to inspire our young artists as they create. \nStudent work often extends across multiple sessions to deepen their artistic engagement and skills. \nSmall class sizes enable personalized attention.
