SUMMARY:Hear Firsthand Stories from Vietnam Veterans at the Brick Library
DESCRIPTION:Join volunteers from the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial & Museum for a special presentation at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday\, November 4 at the Brick Branch of the Ocean County Library. The volunteers will include US Army veterans Allen Rothman\, Bill McClung\, and Bill Liepold\, and US Coast Guard veteran Joe Foster. \nThe presenters will tell their experiences in the Vietnam War. \nThe program will also include A Place of Honor\, an award-winning\, 31-minute documentary which recounts the lived experiences of veterans and Gold Star family members before\, during\, and after the Vietnam War. \nThe film also follows how they found renewed purpose through the creation of the Memorial and Museum. \nLocated in Holmdel\, the New Jersey Veterans’ Memorial & Museum honors New Jersey’s 1\,566 fallen heroes from Vietnam\, preserves their memories and stories\, and educates future generations about the Vietnam War and era. \nIt provides a place for remembrance\, historical education\, firsthand testimony\, and continued dialogue about one of the most complex periods in modern American history. \nRegistration is required for this free program. \nTo register\, visit tinyurl.com/BrickVietnam\, call 732-477-4513\, or stop by the branch at 301 Chambers Bridge Road. \ntinyurl.com/BrickVietnam \n732-477-4513
