Mobsters and Mayhem

September 16, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

History Event Icon

Join historian Greg Caggiano for a presentation on rum-running and Prohibition in New Jersey, with a focus on the northern part of the Jersey Shore.

Hear stories of mob violence, corruption, local legends, and how towns built up for religious retreats exploded into underworlds of crime.

Greg has previously served on the board of directors for the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society, a town which was considered the capital of bootlegging on the East Coast.

He has spent years researching the subject, which has included interviewing descendants of those involved…on both sides of the law!

New Jersey’s connection to Vito Genovese, the mobster who inspired “The Godfather”, will also be. Please register.
