League of Historical Societies of New Jersey – Spring 2026 Regional Meeting

Join us under the large event tent on the historic grounds of Cedar Bridge Tavern for a special gathering recognizing Ocean County’s Revolutionary War legacy and the vital role of privateers in America’s fight for independence.

The event will feature a League business meeting, lunch, and a featured presentation by Robert Cobb of Barnegat.

This program brings important statewide attention to the history of privateering in what is now Ocean County,

highlighting how Letters of Marque, authorized by representatives to the Continental Congress in April 1776.
