Get Muddy: wheel thrown and hand-built pottery If you can think it, you can make it! Anything is possible with clay as your medium.
Al and Mary Kate will walk you through different hand building techniques such as pinch pots, coil pots, and slab construction. Students can also choose to learn how to use the wheel, we will teach basic techniques such as centering, widening, and then onto throwing and shaping.

Notes:
It is highly recommended to start off in your first 6-week class session with hand building if you have never done pottery before. You can still try the wheel as other students take breaks. If you sign up for a wheel throwing spot, you may come during normal operating hours for the first two weeks of class to Maker’s Station and try throwing for an hour to build your skills, as long as you are not saving any pieces you make. This is a no charge “extra” to our members who want to practice the skills. Students may have up to 16 completed pieces per our 6-week session, completed in either hand building or wheel throwing.
