My new class is starting, and I will continue to set up a still-life, and instruct students with their own projects, but . . .
Ever get frustrated with a watercolor you just can’t get right?
Been there, done that. Some time ago I did a portrait of a niece in watercolor.
Loved the tilt of her head and the flowers in her hair (she was a bridesmaid I think); but at that time I could not achieve the softness of her face in paint.
So, I went over the entire work with pastels, which are soft and blend beautifully.
I will supply the pastels. Doesn’t have to be a portrait that you want to enhance, could be landscape, still-life or abstract.
So much fun to get messy with your materials.
