Chasing Light: Capture the Glow of Summer in Watercolor

Discover how to bring warmth, light, and atmosphere into your watercolor paintings in this engaging, beginner/advanced beginner-friendly workshop!

Students will learn how to capture the glow of sunlight using approachable, step-by-step techniques, including preserving whites, layering transparent washes, and using warm and cool color relationships to create luminosity.

Working from summer-inspired subject matter such as coastal scenes, florals, or light-filled landscapes, participants will complete guided exercises and a finished painting while building confidence and control with the watercolor medium. Students are also welcome to bring their own reference photos if they wish to personalize their work.
