Brilliant Skies with Pastels

In this class, we will focus on the gentle layering techniques that bring out the perfect color combinations, capturing the luminous skies we often see.

We’ll also delve into the dramatic world of storm clouds and heavy skies, learning how to depict their depth and intensity.

Our session will begin with a review of materials, where we will discuss various types of pastels and the best paper or surfaces to use for optimal results.

Students can work from their favorite photographs for inspiration, or they can follow along with the instructor.

Materials Needed:  Kneaded eraser and white eraser, Paper towel, pencil, selection of soft pastels (no oil pastels)
