Class is being designed for high school and young adult special needs students. This will be a beginner class to introduce the students to various mediums including acrylics, watercolor, fiber arts and collage. The classes are being designed to instill interest for the students to continue into other artists guild classes. Please fill out the Pre-Visit survey below.
Class 1: Acrylics. Impressionists’ art with a brief history of artist and art. Discussion of the color wheel, mixing colors. Use of different brushes (Flat, round and thin round brushes) Class 2: Watercolor. Who is your Superhero? Students to bring a picture of their favorite superhero. Using a grid technique, lightly pencil drawing. Watercolor techniques to paint superhero.
Follow up courses would be:
Class 3: Fiber arts. Using large plastic needle and yarn, a spring design for gift giving.
Class 4: Matisse and collage. How art can be made using paper cut outs.
