Albert Music Hall: Songwriters in the Pines – Bluegrass & Folk Show

We’re excited to announce a special Bluegrass and Folk music-themed show on Friday, September 26th, as part of the Albert Music Hall’s Songwriters in the Pines series.
Headlining the evening is Cole Quest and the City Pickers, a high spirited Bluegrass band from New York, fronted by the grandson of legendary American folk icon Woody Guthrie.
Albert Hall will be one of the stops on the band’s tour for their newly released album, Homegrown, which features some of Woody’s songs along with originals.
The evening will also feature three outstanding local bands performing original music in the traditional Albert Hall format, with each act delivering a 30-minute set leading up to the headliner. Kicking things off is Sean Daniels and the Law Abiding Citizens, a South Jersey Americana band rooted in Bluegrass and Folk.
They’ll be followed by Magnolia Street String Band, whose sound blends traditional Bluegrass with elements of cosmic Americana, Country, and Old-Time music.
Closing out the local lineup is Jackson Pines, known for both their original songwriting and their revival of traditional Folk tunes from the Jersey Pine Barrens.
Finally, Cole Quest and the City Pickers will take the stage with a one hour set.
Doors open at 5:30 PM, and the show begins at 6:30 PM.
Admission is free; donations are welcome but not required. The venue is cash only.
In addition to the Hall’s gift shop, the band’s merchandise will be available in the foyer.
The Food Booth will be serving several hot food options and a selection of drinks and desserts – you can pick up a cheeseburger, drink, and dessert for under $10!
