2026 Group Stand Up Paddleboarding Classes Toms River Recreation

Dates: Sunday June 21

Time:  9:00am – 10:30am

Location: Shelter Cove Beach 1390 Bay  Ave.

Ages: 16+ years old

Description:  Join Coastline Adventures and Toms River Recreation for this one day clinic for beginner and intermediate level stand-up paddleboarders.

Progressive skill and team building sessions cover equipment familiarization and proper fit, location and condition assessment, on and off water safety and self-rescue skills, fundamental paddling techniques and navigation, and local wildlife and environmental awareness.

Each day offers a new adventure, paddling, swimming, and fun activities.

Requirements:  Participants MUST know how to swim.

Equipment:  Board, leash, and life vest are provided for use during class.  Participants may bring their own equipment, rash guards or wetsuits.

Beach badges are NOT required to attend class but are required if participants or guardians plan on staying after class ends.

Participants should bring their own sunscreen, towel, drinks, snacks and footwear.

In the event Toms River Township and /or Coastline Adventures needs to cancel your entire class, rain date options will be offered based on availablity and safe paddeling conditions.

 Coastline Adventures Surfing School is accredited by the National Surf/SUP Schools and Instructors Association and brings over 30 years of professional experience providing safe, high-quality surf, bodyboard, and stand-up paddleboard instruction throughout the Jersey Shore. Led by Lance Tompkins and Jennifer Steffener, both NSSIA Certified Master Level Surf Instructors, the school combines nationally recognized training standards with deep local knowledge of Ocean County beaches, bays, tides, and weather conditions.
