VETERANS JOB FAIR AND SEMINAR SCHEDULED FOR OCT. 21

TOMS RIVER - A Veterans Job Fair and Seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, at the Army National Guard Armory, 1200 Whitesville Road, here.

More than 35 employers are expected to be at the event. In addition workshops focusing on resume writing and conducting job searches are also scheduled.

"Providing the best information possible and assistance to help secure employment is just one of the things we can do to help our veterans," said Ocean County Freeholder Gerry P. Little, who serves as liaison to the Ocean County Veterans Service Bureau. "We encourage veterans, their family members and also the general public to attend the job fair."

The event is being hosted by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the Ocean County Workforce Investment Board.

"We appreciate the assistance of all the agencies, the veterans organizations and all the businesses that will be participating in this event," said Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari, who serves as liaison to the Ocean County Workforce Investment Board. "This is a convenient and beneficial way to help our veterans, their families and the public who may be in the job market to find out what is available to them."

Although the Job Fair is targeted to veterans, it is also open to the general public. Attendees are being recommended to bring their resume and dress for success.
